Protect Our Rivers Expands Reach with Support from Ball Corporation, Announcing River Cleanups in Arizona and Florida

Protect Our Rivers, a leading river conservation organization, is excited to announce its partnership expansion with Ball Corporation. This fall, the two organizations will co-host river cleanup events in Tampa, Florida, and Glendale, Arizona, marking a significant step in its mission to protect and preserve rivers across the nation.

Protect Our Rivers is a nonprofit organization that works to make a lasting impact on river health by organizing conservation projects that bring communities together and inspire immediate action. In the past four years, the organization has hosted over 140 cleanups across 18 waterways, and removed over 500,000 pounds of debris and trash from rivers. While many of these cleanups have taken place in Colorado, where Protect Our Rivers is  based, the expansion with Ball Corporation will allow the organization to spread love to other heavily polluted rivers across the U.S.

“We are honored to partner with Ball Corporation on this expansion,” said Sarah Nelson, Executive Director of Protect Our Rivers. “Our Colorado events with Ball have been some of the most impactful yet, and we’re excited to take our model to new areas where we know we can empower local communities to make a difference on river health. In addition to removing trash from rivers, our cleanups give people a chance to see firsthand the problems rivers face today and an opportunity to make an immediate impact.”

“At Ball, we are thrilled to grow our partnership with Protect Our Rivers,” said Lauren Roadman, Global Community Relations Specialist at Ball Corporation. “Together we are able to educate the community on the importance of waste and recycling, and how it impacts the overall health of our environment.”

The upcoming river cleanups are scheduled for this fall, offering local residents a chance to contribute to a cleaner, healthier environment. These events will address critical issues related to water pollution and foster community spirit and environmental awareness. Additionally, we will be presenting exceptional prizes, to volunteers, including two annual family passes to the Glazer Children's Museum.

River Cleanup Events:

●      Glendale, Arizona: Thursday, October 24th at 3:30 pm (MST)

●      Tampa, Florida: Wednesday, November 13th at 3:30 pm (EST)

Community members, volunteers, and local organizations are encouraged to come and participate. By joining forces, participants will help remove debris, enhance the natural beauty of the rivers, and promote the importance of maintaining clean waterways for future generations.
